Persephone is more than a twisted Southern Gothic fairy tale. It has its roots in the Threepenny Opera (perfect for the current amerikan Weimar Republic /Globalist dystopia), also in Ray Davies’ wry observations and Lee Hazlewood's lysergic cowboy laments.

In the myth, Persephone was dragged to hell by Hades, who fancied her, but his doing so created Winter in the world above. She was the original ‘kept woman’ and with that picture below as the initial inspiration, I imagined the corruption that would gradually creep in to her spirit in his company. amerika, now captured by its own demons has grown ever more dully corrupt in all the years I’ve been alive…to the point where I wonder if the words to this song even register as cautionary tale: "Don't cut deals with the Devil"
