about

Last song for Crossroads I have to sing: "Pristy Lee"
It's the evolved nickname for my wife (from the original "Miss Pretty")
Her Satanist parents in Ohio, abused her in ways that only people who swear allegiance to the devil can.

At the worst of it she said that Angels would take her up into heaven and tend to her, covering her with a kind of light and though she begged them to let her stay, they sent her back saying that everything would be well....What is mysterious is that the only thing of God she knew was what her parents told her; that God "hated her" and that she was a "sinner sinner, damned to hell". (she still wrestles with that negative programming in her head .... I've discovered that most people do, even those whose childhoods were nowhere near as horrific. When we measure ourselves we always come up short)
When my wife started remembering these things 3 years ago, especially this part about the Angels, the hair on the back of my neck stood up....
You see, I wanted to BE an Angel when i was in my late-20's.

lyrics

Night by night…
you carried me in your light by night for a song

now for a moment of silence a song B4 i carry on…

burnt by the Real & black still from feeling your love in the storm for so long

Who carried who? you carried me in that Light

Oh….Pristy Lee they are dead and gone

and this life don't last too long
but there's no other song…we can play

Oh the mystery aint where we're going

or the place where we belong…
It's "what have I done wrong?"
Ooh aaaah ooh-ah

You ran from the fight,

with no memory of the Night
save your love of the Light
...
Does the world seem small when you fall from such a dizzying height?

Amnesia for me – Forgetfulness for you
If that's true we were well within our rights...

When the world was new … oh how we hit the heights

Oh….Pristy Lee we are dead and gone

and this life don't last too long

but there's no other song…left to play

Oh the mystery aint where we're going

or the place where we belong…
It's always
"what have I done wrong?"
Ooh aaaah ooh-ah
